Born in Sierra Leone and raised in the United States, my path into mental health and humanitarian work is deeply personal. Experiences of forced displacement and rebuilding across cultures shaped my understanding of resilience and belonging and continue to guide how I show up with cultural humility, compassion, and accountability.

About Me

Operating at the intersection of healing and systems transformation, my work integrates clinical practice with advanced expertise in trauma-informed care, gender-based violence, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), and cross-cultural psychoeducation.

Engagement spans local, national, and international contexts, including collaboration with refugee resettlement agencies, humanitarian organizations, and global institutions committed to strengthening trauma-responsive systems of care for forcibly displaced populations, survivors of violence, unhoused youth, and communities navigating complex and intergenerational trauma.

Professional Background

Leadership & Global Work

My leadership has centered on building and strengthening systems that serve displaced and underserved communities.

This has included overseeing national refugee integration programming, advancing gender-based violence prevention initiatives, contributing to emergency MHPSS responses with the United Nations Migration Agency (IOM), and supporting community mental health and workforce development efforts in Sierra Leone.
